Accountancy firm Deloitte has announced the creation of a specialist real estate advisory arm of the business as part of its expansion in Yorkshire.
The firm Drivers Jonas Deloitte was established in Leeds after a tie-up with Drivers Jonas - a commercial property consultancy firm - and Deloitte.
The new division, with an employment capacity of as many as 700 people, will include the 21-strong Leeds office of Drivers Jonas - set up in 2007. The agreement is expected to help the businesses grow further.
Geoff Taylor, senior partner in the Leeds office of Deloitte, said: "We see a big opportunity for Drivers Jonas Deloitte to add value to our clients.
"We will connect the financial, tax and business insights of Deloitte with our comprehensive suite of real estate solutions to help our clients address their business and property opportunities and challenges.
"With the current difficult economic conditions, the combination of business and property expertise is more important than ever."
Drivers Jonas has a number of specialist teams involved in advising major investors, landowners, developers, occupiers and the public sector across Yorkshire and the North East.
