With improving trading conditions, York-based housebuilder Persimmon has announced plans to start work at 90 new sites.
Persimmon's sales have risen by 7% since the beginning of the year and the firm saw a 20% increase in sales rate per site, with operations from 370 locations.
Cancellation rates also seem to have stabilised at around 16%, below the long-term average of 20%, the firm added.
Persimmon's recent marketing campaign has steadily boosted visitor numbers and website traffic, the firm said.
The housebuilder said it will begin work on the new sites from the first half of this year, subject to the maintenance of strong market conditions.
The group has announced pre-tax profits of £77.8 million for last year, compared with a £780 million loss in 2008 when lower property valuations impacted the write-downs and brought the results down.
With a write-back of £74.8 million in the above figure, the company's profits without exceptional items stand at £3 million.
